I’m proud to say that I’ve visited three different countries in 2017 so far.
I’ve been to Cuba, The Bahamas and… I’m writing this blog post from Nigeria!
Even though I was born in California, my family is Nigerian and I haven’t been home since I was ten years old. I can’t explain how much it means to me that I’m here right now. Don’t worry, I’ll have a full travel recap for you when I’m back in a few weeks.
One of the things that Cuba, The Bahamas and Nigeria have in common is the weather… it is H-O-T and air conditioning isn’t really a thing.
For me, being hot and sweaty isn’t really a thing…
So, what’s a girl to do?
Trips like this are basically the olympics of fashion and hygiene. I need the perfect outfits and the best products to keep me feeling fresh no matter what. So I’m going to share a few of my favorite looks with you.
Use this are your summer inspiration, because if these things can keep me fresh and dry as I travel the world, they’ll definitely keep you fresh and dry during your summer adventures.
1.) Super Long Maxi Dress
I’m 5’10 so I was very excited when I discovered this gingham print maxi dress that comes in “regular” and “tall” lengths. I ordered the tall and when I wear it with sandals it’s so long and glamorous. The full skirt catches the breeze nicely and it’s easy to discreetly wear shorts underneath to avoid chub rub. This dress has gone with me on a few trips now, it’s a summer outfit I go back to again and again.
2.) Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant
I can’t stop talking about this deodorant!
I’ve been talking about hygiene hacks for curvy girls for years and I’m happy to add Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant to the list. I rock with Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant as part of my good hygiene routine, because it provides up to 2x sweat protection vs. an ordinary antiperspirant. So whether I’m exploring the markets in Nigeria or walking through the streets of Cuba, I know I’ll start and end my day fresh when I swipe in Secret Clinical Strength.
3.) Knee Length Sun Dress
I can’t get enough of dresses like this. The knee length style is short, but still modest. The print and cut is light but still adorable. Here in Nigeria, I keep washing it and wearing it over and over again. It’s perfect for the climate.
4.) Jeans and a Light Blouse
I’ve been taking secret with me around the world, but when I’m back in the United States, I wear jeans in the summer but only with a light blouse that isn’t clingy. I know not everyone wears dresses, so if pants are more your thing a look like this can be an easy summer look.
