So, I had this idea to do a Body Positive Work Out.
I wanted to bring women of all shapes and sizes together to do a workout without judgement or gym-timidation.
Sometimes it’s easier to grab my girls to get cocktails than it is to get them all together for a workout, so I knew I had to make this Body Positive Workout a good one.
The Work Out
The first thing I had to do was choose an activity for us. I decided that a spin class in a pool would be different and fun, so I booked a few bikes for Aqua Spinning at AquaStudioNY.
“AQUA is a wellness sanctuary in the heart of TriBeCa and the unique home to AQUACYCLING — a cycling experience in four feet of water that harmoniously pairs the challenge of high-intensity cardio and full-body toning with the natural healing properties of salt water.
Our classes are designed to be semi-private with a maximum of 14 guests per class. Most of our Aquacycling classes are Women only. Classes range in length from 30 minutes to an hour but are generally 45 minutes long. For our male clients, we offer four 45-min Co-ed classes per week.” (…read more here)

What I Wore:
The Swimsuitsforall Gym to Swim line just launched. The pieces are created to be worn in and out of the pool– brilliant, right?
This capri and tank set is a dream come true for me for a two reasons. 1.) For an aqua spin class, these swimsuit leggings will prevent chub rub. 2.) When I swim laps in the morning, I can wear this straight to the gym and then change into my outfit for the day, in NYC carrying less clothing is always a win!
My Body Positive Squad
We all know that the workout struggle is real. But I had this vision that the right group of women, doing something fun could be the most fun work out ever… I’m happy to say that I was right! Our instructor Ed was so sweet. Before class he came over to each of our bikes and got us set up perfectly. He pushed us, brought a rocking playlist and when we wanted to quit, Ed pushed us even further.
A lot of the girls I invited didn’t know each other, but once we got in the water everyone became fast friends. We laughed, sang along to songs and splashed around. No one felt self conscious, no one felt judged, everyone felt the good vibes!
Should I do this again? Should I come to Your City?
I’m thinking about doing more #BodyPositiveWorkout classes, I think it could be fun to do it again in NYC and… maybe when I’m traveling! I would love love love to come visit some of you in your cities and we could do a #BodyPositiveWorkout together. So I’ve got questions for you– Would you want to do a #BodyPositiveWorkout with me? Is there an awesome workout class that you love? Where should I go next? Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!
I’ll be announcing the next #BodyPositiveWorkout Soon, Follow Me On Instagram So You Don’t Miss Out!
