Plus Size Fitness: Squats with Bad Knees? Let’s Do it!

When I went home for Christmas in December, I was walking a few paces ahead of my sisters.

“Ummmm where did THAT come from?” I heard, one of them say. I turned around and saw both of them staring at my bum.

Both of my sisters have great backsides, while I hold it down in the boobs department.

I know I’ll never catch up to them but I’ve been doing the best with what I have and apparently its working and I’m a little less Sponge Bob Square @$$ than I was before!

A big part of toning up my derrière has come with learning that I can do squats without trashing my knees. So, I asked my trainer/friend Robbie to help me make a tutorial on how to do squats with bad knees.

    Awesome. I am always frustrated that I can’t do real squats without throwing out my knee — then I’m out for a few weeks. I’ve been doing shallow ones which help with leg strength but don’t really work the butt. I have the ball, all I need is to find a wall with nothing on it. LOL Thanks!

    You need to look into Wide Squats or Sumo Squats which take the pressure off the knee joints. I was a thrower in college and have very bad knees but I still am able to do the exercise because of the Sumo Squats.

    That was awesome! Thank you so much for that tip. I have very bad knees and was still trying to do squats in what I thought was the right way and it really hurt. This is so much better: no pain, and I really feel it in my butt and thighs. I’m so happy I found this video. xoxoxo!
